The Toronto Green Community in partnership with Coach House Books presents:
HTO The Future of Toronto's Water
Date: November 27, 2008
Where: Hart House - 7 Hart House Circle - Debates Room
Time: 7:00 PM 9:00 PM
To celebrate the publication of HTO: Torontos Water from Lake Iroquois to Lost Rivers to Low-flow Toilets (Coach House Books), the Toronto Green Community and Coach House Books present a panel discussion on Toronto's water, featuring some of HTO's contributors including Emily Alfred (RiverSides), Chris Bilton (Spacing), Michael McMahon (York University) and Ed Freeman (Heritage Toronto) and moderated by the Christopher Hilkene of the Clean Water Foundation.
Come to Hart House on Thursday, November 27th, and be part of this important debate about H2O in TO.
Drained by a half-dozen major watersheds, cut by a network of deep ravines and fronting on a Great Lake, and home to a massive water supply, wastewater and flood control works, Toronto is a city dominated by water. How will that relationship with water change in the coming decades? In HTO: Torontos Water from Lake Iroquois to Lost Rivers to Low-flow Toilets (Coach House Books), 34 contributors examine the ever-changing interplay between nature and culture, and call into question the citys past, present and future engagement with water.
Cost: $5
