Ellen Gilles
Apartment Greening Manager
Ellen worked in Student Family Housing at the University of Toronto for 20 years. She was instrumental in creating one of the first recycling programs in a high rise building in Toronto, as well as an extensive environmental education program for over 700 tenant families.
Ellen has been on the Board of the Toronto Green Community for six years. She is currently vice chair of the board and has been active in many programs such as apartment recycling, apartment greening and environment programs for school children.
She has a passion for the environment and feels that economics and the environment make good business partners.
Minaz Asani-Kanji
Apartment Greening Coordinator
Minaz has worked with the Toronto Green Community for fifteen years. She is currently Associate Director of Organization and manages several program areas. Her main focus now is Apartment Greening
One of the many programs Minaz has managed is a $100,000 apartment recycling project for TGC. Through this program over 100 multi family buildings and 21,000 single family homes across the Greater Toronto Area received recycling education.
Minaz also works part-time as a community animator for the Live Green Toronto project, heling commmunities and organizations to start environmental programs.
Minaz loves the environment and has a passion for waste management issues.
